New words this week : 4,039 words which is down from last week. Writing's been a struggle.

WIPs worked on this week : 4, with no new WIPs (yay!)

...and once again it was a many-wip week. In the past couple of days I've been sort of feeling like I'm getting back on track, but it's been a process. I'm so tired, y'all.

The Old Guard

&#9734 food truck au : 2,361 words which brings the total to 118,759 words and think I've finally broken through what I needed to get past. Back on track, and hoping to get this next chapter to my beta by the end of the week. We're finally at the smutty part!!

&#9734 werewolf au : 281 words which brings the total to 14,526 words and the doc was open so I just kept poking at it a little bit.

&#9734 old kingdom au : 939 words which brings the total to 16,996 words and I was talking about this with someone who started shouting at me in all-caps about it. I'm still giddy over the fact that there's someone out there who is excited about this concept.

&#9734 early days pwp : 458 words which brings the total to 4,295 words and this one's not really coming together either. I'm taking a pause on it for the moment.

comments

New words this week : 6,037 words which is a little bit less, but pretty good considering this week has been bananas so far. Much less writing time + some of my writing time went to beta-reading a thing + some of my writing time went to editing/outlining.

WIPs worked on this week : 5, with no new WIPs (yay!)

...and you can see by the number of WIPs I went skipping through that words were tough this week. I knew the second half of March would be rough and wow did it take its toll. Still, we're back to normal (or normal-ish) here. I've gotten my regular writing time today and actually got some good words out of it, even though I spent the bulk of it rereading the previous chapter in food truck, trying to get back in the brainspace to write that fucking thing.

The Old Guard

&#9734 food truck au : 3,359 words which brings the total to 116,376 words and I'm struggling on it. I got kind of hung up on one piece of feedback on my last chapter, but I think I've mostly worked through it now. Chapters are still running long, I ended up adding another one and I've got another two that I think will be long enough that I'll have to split them up. So, all things considered, I have another 8 chapters to finish and I think probably about another 50k. I don't even know anymore. I'm pretty bummed I didn't get to start posting it last month like I wanted to, and I'm probably not going to be able to post it this month either. Hopefully in May, though. I really really don't want it to go beyond May.

&#9734 werewolf au : 172 words which brings the total to 14,245 words and this was just poking at it a little bit because I couldn't remember one bit in it, went to reread, and then ended up writing a little. Still can't wait to work on this one, oh my god it's going to be so good.

&#9734 kintsugi : 969 words which brings the total to 1,497 words and I put it to my beta which pwp I should write because it's been six months and I would love to finish and post something, and this was the one she picked. Wrote almost 1k before petering out on it because it turns out I'm not great at writing BDSM, ugh. I need to go reread some of my faves to get my head around it and then take another run at this one. It's the sequel to The Everyday Uses of Ordinary Objects (the cockwarming one) and should only be about 4k total so it's almost halfway done.

&#9734 early days pwp : 1,715 words which brings the total to 3,379 words and this was the other one I was thinking about trying to finish up and post. Should only be about 6-7k total, so it's also about half done. Planning to do this one after the other one.

&#9734 redamancy part ?? : 153 words which brings the total to 663 words and hey this one is DONE! It's a missing scene from the second movie, but I have a few more to finish up in the series that come before it so I can't post it yet. Still, it's nice to have something finished. It also got me to go back to poke at the next part which is a lot closer to done than I remembered it being. Maybe I ought to work on this series first? Idk idk...

comments

I expected that the second half of it would be busier, but I was unprepared for just how much busier it would be, and how draining and stressful. I am absolutely flattened right now. Emotionally, physically, mentally. I am so so so tired.

March Wrap-Up : I finished the month with 38,153 words which is incredible and also frustrating. Even though I knew that the last half of the month would have a big drop in wordcount, it was rougher than I expected. Losing momentum sucks, but still! 38k is awesome and I'm trying really hard to focus on that. A total of 5 WIPs got words, with all words going into 5 Old Guard fics. Not only did I meet my goal of 25k, I went well past.

APRIL
April--crossing my fingers and knocking on wood--should be a fairly quiet month. I'm pretty burned out from Life Stuff, but hopefully I should be settling back into my regular writing schedule and I guess we'll see what happens.

April Wordcount Goal : 30k and I'm bumping it up to where I've landed the past two months, and hoping that I'm not about to jinx myself by aiming higher.

April Fics to Focus On
☆ food truck au : and where last we left, I was optimistic that I was bumping the wordcount estimate for the very last time. And to that I say LOL. LMAO, even. Holy shit. If the chapters had stayed consistent, that would have been accurate. But then I got into the relationship part of the fic, and Chapter 8 ran way long, so I split it in half. And then Chapter 9 ran long again. And then Chapter 10 ran long, and now Chapter 11 is, you guessed it, running long as well. And taking into account how long these chapters are running I think I actually have about 50k to go on it. At least 50k. Oh my god what the fuck. Estimated wordcount, 165k.

☆ pwp : I haven't decided which of these will be finished but I need to finish something. I made Grace pick one for me but I'm struggling to get that one to come together so idk.

☆ redamancy part 4 : and this one I think I can get done, it only needs like another 500 words and it'll be done. I just want to get something finished and posted.

comments

I've been adding words to later parts so progress is still being made, but I'm struggling a little, and I think it's something I need to just let simmer in the back of my brain for a while. I'm disappointed that I didn't make my goal of starting to post this thing by the end of March, but it is what it is. I have no earthly idea how long it's going to be, judging by how many chapters I have left and how long recent chapters have been running... I still have something like 50k to go?? And I'm looking at that number like, this can't possibly be right. I really hope that's not right. There is no reason this fic should be this long what am I even doing anymore.

&#9734 early days pwp : 395 words which brings the total to 2,052 words and shifting gears a little bit because it's been like 6 months since I've posted anything so this is one that I KNOW will not run long, because my pwps always stay under 10k. This one in particular should only be around 5-6k, and I just really want to have something finished and posted.

comments

Alas, I did. It was horrible. I haven't fully recovered from it. The nice part though was I spent a lot of the time I wasn't sleeping, writing instead. So. Yay?

The Old Guard

&#9734 food truck au : 14,012 words which brings the total to 100,271 words and I can't believe it's over 100k. When I posted my monthly goals I was pretty confident it would end around 105k and considering I've got five chapters left that are partially-written, I think that's not going to happen. I have accepted that I actually have no fucking clue how long this fic will be. I am just along for the ride at this point. Anyhow. As you'll recall, Chapter 8 ran long so I split it in two, figuring that the first half would be the long one. Surprise, Chapter 9 is like 16k. So I think it needs to be split as well, except there's not really a good place to break it up, and if I do it in the least-bad place, the split is going to be like 9.5k / 5.5k which I don't like it feeling so unbalanced. idk, hopefully beta will have some feedback (she is so much wiser than I am)

comments

I had about a week in the middle there with houseguests and illness etc etc that my wordcount slipped, but I was hitting 1k+ most days last month, and even had a few days that were 2-3k which is awesome. I only had two days with no words at all. Partly it's due to finally hitting that glorious downhill momentum as we roll into the end of food truck au, and partly because I had no writing time during the day so I've been coming back to the keyboard after my shower instead of heading straight to bed. Turns out, at night with the house dark and quiet and me the only one awake, I can slam out like a twelve hundred words in an hour. Unfortunately it does cut into my sleeping time and it's really not sustainable long term, alas.

February Wrap-Up : I finished the month with 31,078 words which is nothing short of a fucking miracle. I am deliriously happy about how much I wrote this month. A total of 3 WIPs got words, with all words going into 3 Old Guard fics. Not only did I meet my goal of 15k, I basically doubled it.

MARCH
I would love to keep this pace going but we'll see how it shakes out. I don't want to push too hard and burn out, but I also don't want to slow down too much and lose this momentum I've got going. The second half of the month will also be a little challenging due to some anticipated Life Stuff, but we're all just going to do the best we can.

March Wordcount Goal : 25k and I'm aiming a little lower than I did this month because I'm hoping that this is all that food truck au needs to be finished. (Please for the love of god let that be all that food truck au needs to be finished.)

March Fics to Focus On
☆ food truck au : and where last we left, I thought that I would have it done in 75k. It's at 81,420 and I still have 7 chapters that need to be finished. I'm averaging 7-8k per chapter, going with 8k x 7 chapters is 56k, of which I've got 24.5k written already. So, that leaves me just under 25k and hopefully it should go fast because as I said, I've got it all half written already, including the ending, and a lot of what's left is smut which goes pretty quickly. So, I am optimistic that I am bumping the wordcount estimate for the very last time, and this thing will be done soon. Estimated wordcount, 105k.

comments

Visit went okay, they flew home Sunday night. This morning my mother-in-law called to let us know that my father-in-law just tested positive for Covid. So far so good here, but I'm pretty frustrated that I'm going to have this hanging over my head for the next week or so until I either get sick or I don't.

The Old Guard

&#9734 food truck au : 2,349 words which brings the total to 67,708 words and is there really any feeling more frustrating than having all the motivation to write, and be entirely lacking the time?? Next chapter needs like another 1.5k to be done, and that's like. I could knock that out in a day under ideal circumstances, and circumstances so far have been very very far from ideal. But anyhow, there is now KISSING and I'm hoping to get it off to beta by the end of this week. I did some very rough math, and if I can continue at my <s>current</s> previous pace I will finish the final chapter by the end of March. The story takes place in the spring and I'm kind of caught up in the idea of posting it around that same time, so I hope I'm able to... I'd wanted to start posting mid-March, and I guess I could still do that even though I would definitely still have a few chapters left to write, but I really feel more comfortable waiting until I've got the whole thing done, even if "done" is just a first draft.

&#9734 werewolf au : 582 words which brings the total to 13,921 words and I was just reflecting earlier today that if I'd known how goddamn long food truck au was going to turn out to be, I would have started working on this one first. Ugh, I'm so desperate to write it, but I'm also really trying to avoid doing that thing where I start a dozen different things and don't actually finish any of them. My 300k of unfinished and unposted HP fic will absolutely haunt me until the end of time and I'm trying my best to not repeat that experience. SO. Mostly I'm just jotting down scene bits and plot ideas as they come to me so I don't lose them, and then using this as extra motivation to get me to finish the thing I am actually trying to finish.

comments

For the second week in a row I managed to keep my focus to one single WIP, I finished and sent off TWO chapters to my beta, and things are still rolling along! I'm now past the Confession of Feels and the chapter I'm working on finishing off now has kissing and I'm giddy over it. I took a little bit of a break today, poking at it a little and only making a few hundred words, but am hoping for a lot of words tomorrow. I will have houseguests arriving on Thursday and staying through Sunday, so I'm anticipating a much less productive writing week. Hoping to still be able to get the next chapter finished off, though. It's at 4200 words and I think it will end up around 7k, so that's entirely within reach if I can keep my focus on it and not wander off to later parts of the story.

comments

I'm still exhausted, there is still snow on the ground, we're supposed to get more snow later this week, and I'm in denial that it's already February. However, there were words.

New words this week : 8,793 words which I am overjoyed about! I'm so SO thrilled that I actually managed to keep my focus on one thing and one thing only this week. And look at all that progress! Not only have a made a buttload of words, I also made some really significant progress plotting-wise. I've got all chapters mapped out now (there are going to be 15!) AND most excitingly, I have an ending written!! Chapter 5 is still in progress, but getting closer to finished and almost ready to send out for beta, and the two chapters after it are also almost complete so I'm hoping I'll be able to finish and send them off one right after another. Now that I have a total chapter count, I'm a little concerned I might be underestimating the final wordcount, though. Most impressive was that I managed to make words most days of the month (I had multiple days where my total wordcount was only 5 or 6 words, but I still took two minutes to open up my WIP and put them down!) I also made the decision to set aside my horrorguard fic for now. I was really dragging on it the first half of the month and I finally accepted that I think I need to spend some time muddling over it, since it grew into a much more complex idea than I originally intended for it to be.

January Wrap-Up : I finished the month with 9,847 words which is not too bad, all things considered. I was really trying to break 10k and am still a little disappointed that didn't happen. A total of 5 WIPs got words, with all words going into 5 Old Guard fics. I did not meet my goal of 12k.

FEBRUARY
I have high hopes for this month. I feel like I'm focused and ready to make words, the last week has been super productive despite my ongoing lack of free time, and I'm just ready. February is a shorter month, and my in-laws will be visiting for a long weekend, so that might cut into things somewhat, but I'm still feeling really optimistic.

February Wordcount Goal : 15k and I really feel good about it.

February Fics to Focus On
☆ food truck au : and ONLY food truck au, so help me god. It's currently at 52k, so if I keep my focus on it and I make my wordcount this month, then I'm going to be halfway through what I need to finish it off. Then if I can do that again in March, it'll be done and I'll be only slightly behind my ideal posting schedule for the year. I've actually already hit my daily wordcount for today, so I'm off to a promising start. Estimated wordcount, 75k.

comments

Wordcount this week is way up from last week, which is nice--especially considering how little writing time I have these days. I get 30-40 minutes on my lunch break at least three days per week (sometimes four days, and very rarely five) and then a pretty dependable 20 minutes on Sundays, and that's basically it. Sometimes I throw down some story notes in the evenings, but by that point in the day I'm so completely exhausted that I can barely think, and definitely not up for any writing. Usually I'm able to get a little more wordage out of those blocks of time, but emotionally and mentally this past week was pretty rough so I'm very happy with what I've got.

New words this week : 2614 words which is great, all things considered!

WIPs worked on this week : 2, with no new WIPs (yay!)

The Old Guard

&#9734 food truck au : 2575 words which brings the total to 46,975 words and with the breakthrough I've had on the second half I feel like it's full steam ahead. Taking a two-ish month break from it was actually the right call, even if it was mostly unintentional. Having some time to simmer in the back of my brain helped me work through the plot of the second half and for the first time I feel like I've actually got a story that fits the wordcount this fucker has ballooned into. I think I'm comfortably over halfway through writing it, so that's exciting as well. Hoping I can wrap it up in another 25-30k.

&#9734 werewolf au : 39 words which brings the total to 12,702 words and I'm pretty excited for when I get to switch my focus to this one full time.

comments

This time of year always kicks my butt, and now I'm trying to get back into the regular routines, which includes regular WIP Wednesday posts to keep me organized and (somewhat?) accountable.

New words this week : 764 words which is what it is. I'm pretty disappointed to not make the deadline but the collection closes in February and there's no way I'm going to make it at the rate I'm going.
A little late, but it's been pretty bonkers around here recently. We're all trying our best.

So, I started writing again this past year! Life has been really A Lot for quite a while, but I found my footing enough to start making some words and it's been pretty great. I set my goal for the year at 50k and more than got that. I also got 4 fics finished and posted, which feels pretty amazing.

( 2025 Wordcounts )

My goal for 2026 is basically to keep this energy going. You can see where I sort of wound down again after being remarkably consistent for a few months. I actually did some writing in December, but I didn't track any of it, so just counted it as zero and plan to start fresh. I've signed up for GYWO for their Modest wordcount pledge (150k) which feels doable, if I keep it up.

( Fic Goals for 2026 )

All in all, this is estimating about 230k of writing (or 150k without including the work left to do on necromancer!joe, which is why I don't anticipate getting to it this year) which means if I focus and am consistent, it should be doable. A challenge, but a manageable one. If I get this done, and I acknowledge that it's a big IF, my posting schedule would ideally be: horrorguard in February, food truck au chapters posting weekly through March-April-May, ghost!Joe posting in June, the next three installments of Redamancy in July-August, and then werewolf!Nicky chapters posting weekly in September-October-November.

So anyhow, we'll see what happens. I'm also resurrecting my old method of "write every single day, even if it's just half a sentence" and so far that's going well. Most days the past week just have a handful of words (the lowest was 6 lol) and that's totally fine, no pressure to keep going if I'm not feeling it that day, but a couple of times once I got the doc open and my hands on the keyboard, the words kept on coming.

So, that's that, and here we go!

comments

2025 GOALS

2025 Total Wordcount Goal : 78,583 / 100,000

2025 Total Writing Days : 100 / 365

NOVEMBER
I was expecting October to be the rough month and then November was supposed to be an easy glide to the end of the year, and somehow. SOMEHOW. That was not the case. Mostly due to being sick four times in four weeks, most recently with influenza A. I have not had the flu since 2017 and it was every bit as miserable as I remembered it being. I feel like I am only just beginning to crawl out from the crushing exhaustion that comes along with it. Ugh. Get your flu shots, y'all.

November Wrap-Up : I finished the month with 9,835 words which is fantastic considering everything else that's been going on. A total of 7 WIPs got words, with all words going into 7 Old Guard fics. I did not meet my goal of 20k.

DECEMBER
My biggest goal is just to get back into a writing routine again. I was doing really good at being consistent, and then last month I pretty much fell apart. I would love to get something small finished and posted, but I think that I need to just focus on the longer ones this month instead of getting sidetracked.

December Wordcount Goal : 15k and I still feel like this is going to be a little bit of a stretch, considering all the usual holiday madness that comes along with the month of December. But let's see how it goes! This will leave me a little bit short of my updated wordcount goal for the year, but I already met my original goal of 50k, so I'm all right with it.

December Fics to Focus On
☆ food truck au : and I know I'm not going to finish it this month, but I'd like to get through the next chapter at least, ideally the next two chapters. The next one ramps up the pining, the one after that has the confession of feels and the actual getting together, and that one's already mostly-written so should go fast if I can get through the next one. There's one conversation in particular that's holding me up. Estimated wordcount, 70k.

☆ horrorguard : Aiming to get this on finished and posted in early January, which is comfortably ahead of when the collection closes in February. I've done some work on this one, wordcount got bumped up just a smidge, but thankfully I have the whole story sketched out by now and it didn't spiral. I've got bits and pieces written from beginning to end, and now it's just a matter of filling in the gaps. Estimated wordcount, 15k.

comments

A more productive week wordcount-wise, even if it doesn't feel like it. Sick again with my second cold in three weeks and life continues to be relentless. I am so tired and am once again doing that thing where I can't focus so I end up throwing words at a bunch of different things and make real progress on none of them.

New words this week : 4051 words and I'm honestly a little surprised that it's this high.

WIPs worked on this week : 5, with no new WIPs (yay!)

The Old Guard

&#9734 food truck au : 624 words which brings the total to 40,222 words and still trying to make progress on it so I don't lose all my momentum. I've done a little reorganizing of the chapters and I think I might be able to save some wordcount. Still dismayed about how long this one's turning out to be.

&#9734 horrorguard : 1570 words which brings the total to 3771 words and I'm having a hard time getting traction on it, even though this is the thing I should be focusing on. I have some good scenes down, though, I just need to get the wheel spinning.

&#9734 enemies with benefits au : 421 words which brings the total to 1145 words and I think I have a beginning on it which is exciting, just put down some scene notes. This one's going to be so fun when I finally get around to it!

&#9734 early days pwp : 850 words which brings the total to 1622 words and have closed this one and sent it back to the WIP folder, I thought it would be quick to write and it is not. I'll pick it up again maybe after horrorguard is finished because I do still think it will be short and it'll be nice to have something to post.

&#9734 werewolf au : 564 words which brings the total to 11,658 words and this is where my heart is right now. Desperately want to write on this one, but alas. I'm really trying not to do that thing I do where I start a zillion different long fics and then don't end up finishing any of them. So, horroguard, then food truck au, and then this one will be the ones to focus on.

comments

A day late, but close enough. I am exhausted, what the fuck.

2025 GOALS

2021 Total Wordcount Goal : 68,748 / 50,000 and I am now bumping my goal to 100k

2021 Total Writing Days : 85 / 365

OCTOBER
I feel like it's been October forever, oh my god. This fucking month.

October Wrap-Up : I finished the month with 20,423 words which is fantastic considering everything else that's been going on. A total of 7 WIPs & 1 new work got words, with all words going into 8 Old Guard fics. I more than met my goal of 15k (yay!)

NOVEMBER
My biggest goal is to get my submission for horrorguard started, if not finished, and to make more progress on my stupid runaway fic, which did not get finished last month.

November Wordcount Goal : 20k and I feel good about that since I've been pretty consistently at 20k over the last couple of months.

November Fics to Focus On
☆ food truck au : because holy shit I need it out of my fucking life right now. I don't even know what I'm doing with it anymore since the idea still doesn't feel like a novel-length idea to me and yet here we are. Estimated wordcount, 70k.

☆ horrorguard : The collection is open until mid-February but I'd like to get it finished and submitted earlier than that. This is an idea that I think should stay short, thank god.
What a fucking week. Doctor visits, houseguests, they unexpectedly tore up my ENTIRE fucking street so coming and going from my house has been a nightmare, the fucking raccoon that's been terrorizing my back yard has learned to open the locking trash can lid so this morning i went out to garbage scattered all over the place. I am exhausted. By the back door we keep a small table with a basket on top where all the warm hand-knitted outdoor winter weather things live during the cold season, and the sofa is right next to it. Tonight my mother-in-law knocked an entire glass of chocolate milk off the arm of the sofa and directly into the basket. I am livid. I could cry. I can't even be properly mad at her because it was an accident and she feels bad enough about it already. Soaked everything in cold water and tomorrow I get to see if the stains come out because it's late and I'm so tired and I should do it tonight but I just cannot handle it. Basically just killing time right now until my phone charges and then heading straight to bed.

New words this week : 4167 words which is pretty fucking miraculous, all things considered.

WIPs worked on this week : 3, with no new WIPs (yay!)

The Old Guard

&#9734 food truck au : 3911 words which brings the total to 38,125 words and pretty excited that my focus is staying on this one. Chapter four is nearly finished, and a lot of words went towards the ending, which I'm getting more of a feel for? Still struggling a bit with what's going on in the later parts of it, but I'm trying not to worry overly much until I actually get there. The bits I have so far, I like, so that's good.

&#9734 werewolf au : 133 words which brings the total to 10,931 words and it's just a bit of scene notes/dialogue snippets.

&#9734 horrorguard : 123 words which brings the total to 720 words and I think I've figured out an ending, which is important.

comments

This week has been a little easier, so that's a nice break between the nonsense. I have some medical stuff to take care of this week which I am very anxious about, Mr FTS has some pretty intense work stuff coming up, and then my brother and MIL will be visiting one after the other. So I honestly don't know how writing time is going to go for the rest of the month. There are at least a few days where I should have a little more time than I usually get, since I'll have a few evenings to myself, but overall I'm anticipating having less. Definitely not going to get anything finished and posted this month, alas. Even if I could potentially rush to finish something small, my focus has actually been pretty tightly centered on food truck au so I'm loath to derail that while I'm making such good progress on it.

New words this week : 6712 words which is right on target, AGAIN. Every week when I see my total land right around 6-7k I am filled with joy. I still can't believe how consistent I'm managing to be!!

WIPs worked on this week : 3, with no new WIPs (yay!)

The Old Guard

&#9734 food truck au : 5789 words which brings the total to 34,214 words and I've had to accept a couple of different truths about this one. A) I am absolutely definitely going to blow past my last estimate of 35k, and probably also my newer estimate of 40k. At this point I'm still hopeful about keeping it under 50k but at this rate who the fuck knows. This is due in large part to, B) it's going to be way way smuttier than I anticipated. Third chapter is off to beta and it cranked the UST way up, so that's going to take some words to resolve later in the fic. Anyhow, fourth chapter is coming together quicker than I anticipated so that's nice.

&#9734 werewolf au : 326 words which brings the total to 10,841 words and it was just throwing down some notes about a little scene fragment so I wouldn't forget it. I've officially back-burnered this one, yay. We'll see if that holds next week.

&#9734 horrorguard : 597 words which brings the total to 597 words and I'm excited about it. I signed up for a very low-key horror fest and my card was tremendously inspiring. I have SO many ideas but have narrowed it down to two. Thinking it over some more and just throwing down notes to figure out which one I want to do. Both ideas are short-ish (though one is moreso than the other) and I have until mid-February to submit, so plenty of time.

comments

It's been kind of a fucking week. Car issues continue, I've been just sick enough to be annoyed by it but not sick enough to justify any kind of rest, and I've had about zero downtime. I did get the Halloween stuff out and decorated, and my daily mental health walk for my stupid mental health now comes with crunchy leaves, so that's nice. Trying to focus on the positives here.

New words this week : 6494 words which is right back on target and I remain delighted that my wordcount has stayed so consistent overall. Unfortunately it was one of those weeks where I couldn't find my focus and ended up throwing words at a bunch of different stuff with no significant progress made on any of them.

WIPs worked on this week : 6, with no new WIPs (yay!)

The Old Guard

&#9734 food truck au : 3239 words which brings the total to 28,425 words and I'm still chipping away at the third chapter. Chapter two came back from beta which was helpful as always, so I don't know why this one is being so stubborn. I'm trying really hard to get it finished by this weekend, so we'll see. I'm also pretty sure the finished wordcount is going to be closer to 40k and I'm having something of a crisis over it. This was supposed to be a stupid silly 5k oneshot, and instead it's practically a novel but I'm still not sure that the idea/plot really justifies a novel? I don't know. I guess we'll find out together if it flops when I finally post it.

&#9734 werewolf au : 1872 words which brings the total to 10,599 words and we're into five digits!! I am still obsessed with this one.

&#9734 ordinary objects : 531 words which brings the total to 4316 words and I'm just keeping the cockwarming thing and its sequels in the same doc for convenience so it's all getting counted together even though the first part is done and posted. It's going to be a trilogy now, but all the parts should be short. So, probably around 15-20k total for the three of them. Still hoping to get the second part finished and posted by the end of the month.

&#9734 old kingdom au : 463 words which brings the total to 15,689 words and I'm still pretty obsessed with this one as well, even though it's a little farther down the writing queue. Currently poking at some ideas for the sequel, because of course it's going to have a sequel.

&#9734 canon divergent identity porn au : 262 words which brings the total to 4262 words and I'd only opened the doc in the first place to jot down a potential title for it, and then read over it and added some more words. It's basically if Joe and Nicky had parted ways post-Crusades and then ended up meeting each other later without realizing who they really were. It's going to be a lot of fun when I finally get around to it.

&#9734 ghost!joe au : 127 words which brings the total to 12,197 words and the same thing happened with this one, opened it up to jot down a potential title and ended up throwing some words at it. I'm thinking of trying to wrap this one up maybe while working on the werewolf one? It's about half done and because it's a retelling of the first movie the plot doesn't really have much space to spiral so I think I can get it done in about 20-25k.

comments

I swear it was just August, and yet here we are.

September Wrap-Up : I finished the month with 20,874 words which is awesome. A total of 3 WIPs & 1 new work got words, with all words going into 4 Old Guard fics. One fic was finished and posted! I more than met my goal of 15k (yay!)

OCTOBER
My biggest goal is to get this silly runaway fic finished and posted, just carrying that one over from last month and hopefully it happens. Then dig in and get a good start on the werewolf thing, which I'm like 80% sure will be my next long fic to focus on.

October Wordcount Goal : 15k and I'm tempted to make it a little higher, but am resisting. The last week of October will once again feature houseguests and I never get much writing time done with extra people around.

October Fics to Focus On
☆ food truck au : because it's so close to done already, and this time I mean it, really I do. It's currently at 25k and I know where it's going, I just have to write it out. It did turn out to have some smut, so I'm bumping the wordcount accordingly. Estimated wordcount, 35k.

☆ werewolf!Nicky au : I've been obsessing over this one and think it's a good one to dig into this month with the Halloween vibes all around. Hopefully should make some good progress on it once I give it my full attention. It's currently at 9k, I'm honestly afraid of how long this one might run. Estimated wordcount, 40k (maybe??)

☆ ordinary objects part 2 : I'd like to try to keep up getting at least one thing posted per month, this one should hopefully be an easy-ish goal to meet? It's pretty much a short smutty thing, and those do tend to stay short for me. Estimated wordcount, 5k.

comments

Well, it has been a fucking week and my wordcount reflects that and wow it's been a bunch of monkey's paw nonsense. Like, I might be buying a new car! (Because my car might cost more in repairs than it's worth.) I finally got the motivation to wash all my sofa cushion covers! (Because they were barfed all over.) etc etc.

New words this week : 2696 words which is down a bit but still great all things considered!

WIPs worked on this week : 2, with no new WIPs (yay!)

The Old Guard

&#9734 food truck au : 2254 words which brings the total to 25,391 words and it's we're still going. Got feedback on the first chapter which was wonderfully motivating, second chapter is off to beta, and third chapter should be (knock on wood) finished up by this weekend.

&#9734 werewolf au : 442 words which brings the total to 8935 words and I really can't wait to be able to dig into this one properly.

comments

Sneaking this on in with just 20 minutes left of Wednesday. I feel like I'm slowly getting my life back together after all the disruption, but man has it been uphill. But there were words! There is a finished fic!! I am very excited about both.

New words this week : 5304 words which is down a bit but still great all things considered!

WIPs worked on this week : 3, with one new WIP.

The Old Guard

&#9734 cockwarming : 3762 words which brings the total to 3762 words and this isn't just another WIP my friends this one is DONE and it's already posted!! Read it here for now, I need to get better about crossposting everything to Dreamwidth as well.

&#9734 food truck au : 1300 words which brings the total to 23,171 words and it's still trucking along. Took a brief break from it to write cockwarming (what can I say, the heart wants what it wants) but I'm going to get back to it. I'm so very close to the end. All of it's partially written so it's just a matter of filling in the gaps.

&#9734 werewolf au : 602 words which brings the total to 8575 words and I continue to be obsessed with it.

comments
