WIP Wednesday

There have been words! There have been many words!! Based on how many words, it's probably obvious that my hand has been feeling a lot better recently. Still very definitely injured and I'm still not able to do any knitting, but at least I'm able to type a little more--at least so long as I'm good about taking frequent breaks. (And there was one day where I overdid it and then really paid for it the next day, so that's pretty excellent motivation to stay on top of it.)

New words this week : 3704 words which brings my October wordcount goal to 4263 / 5000. Progress!!

WIPs worked on this week : 1, no new WIPs (yay!)

☆ pwp take 2 : 3704 words which brings the total to 7989 words and lol remember when I said I thought this would only be like 2k?? Still no orgasms and it's only like 20% smut, with the rest being about 70% bickering and 10% of Harry thinking about how in love he is. So, par for the course with me, I think. I'm nearly done, though. I've already had the first flashes of panic that I need a summary and title, which usually means I'm getting close. Right now my doc is called "idk whatever" which I probably ought to change to something better.

October Wrap-Up / November Goals

2017 Total Wordcount Goal : 59,779 / 300,000 and even though it's not a huge step forward, I'm pleased with the little step I've managed. It's honestly more than I thought I'd end up with this month and hey, that's a victory worth celebrating!


October
October was another rough month overall, what with packing and moving and unpacking and settling in. But in the last week, things have sort of evened out. My hand had healed enough that with lots of carefully-managed breaks I'm able to type enough to get some actual writing done. Things are definitely improving and I can only hope that it'll just keep getting better from here! ::crosses fingers, knocks on wood::

October Wrap-Up : I finished the month with 4264 words and even though that falls a little shy of my 5000 words goal, I'll take it. And all of it (aside from ~200 words which went into a new WIP, because I am me after all...) went towards the same fic.


November
I feel like I'm about to jinx myself by saying it... but I think things are okay? Like, really really okay for the first time in a really long while?

November Wordcount Goal : 50k even though I honestly don't think I'll be able to meet that goal, but November is NaNoWriMo! And the one great big shiny silver lining to skipping out on holiday fests this year is that here I am at the beginning of November and I'm neither A) still hard at work on writing a fest fic, or B) burnt out from working hard on writing a fest fic. I'm pretty excited about being able to do it again... the last time I made more than a half-assed attempt at NaNo was 2013. So. Making a serious go at it, and we'll see what happens.

November Fics to Focus On
☆ pwp take 2 : Currently 7989 words and I swear, I'm getting this thing finished this month. I am so so so close to done on it, they just need to stop their bickering and have their orgasms. I think I've got another 1k-ish to go. Estimated wordcount, 9k

☆ Fandom Trumps Hate : Currently 549 words and they are actual usable words! I've also got an index card outline, and 14 handwritten pages of research notes, and a clear plan of what I'm doing for at least the first part of the story. Then I hit a bit of a crossroads and I'm hoping I'll know where to go from there when I actually reach that point. I guess we'll see! Estimated wordcount, 45k.

Additional Goals
Not push myself too hard. This is something I'm bad about in general, but still-healing injury + NaNoWriMo is an especially bad combo for me. So. Be mindful of my limits and not get so caught up that I ignore when my body is telling me to slow down.
