First one of the year! Goodness, I have been full of fail on this, haven't I?

New words this week : 966 words which brings my February wordcount to a total of 1010 / 20,000 which is not... ideal. But I've been laid out most of this week so far with a headache, so I will take it.

☆ Fandom Trumps Hate : 966 words which brings the total to 86,265 and it's all been bits-and-pieces writing, adding a little here and a little there. I think what I'm trying to make one chapter really ought to be two, and I don't really have a good feel for the pacing of it quite yet. So I've been chipping away at it and hopefully that'll sort itself out soon.

Real Life continues to be a thing. Adulting is the worst. And I am tired. So very very tired.

New words this week : 3366 words which brings my October wordcount to a total of 11,931 / 30,000 which is awesome. I'm really really excited about the bits I'm working on now, and my wordage is showing that.

☆ Fandom Trumps Hate : 3366 words which brings the total to 84,392 words and you will notice that this is a BIG difference in total wordage from last week. What happened was, I ended up cannibalizing an older fic that's been sitting untouched since 2013. I'd done it for NaNoWriMo and then put it aside to write Stop All the Clocks, and by the time I came back to it I realized that it needed a ton of reworking and I just... never got around to it, and then somewhere in the last couple of years I realized that I was never going to.

But there are a couple of subplots in it that line up with what I was already planning to write for my FTH fic, and after reading back through it I thought that I could actually salvage a bunch of it this way. I pulled out about 30k of potentially-usable words, even though I'm sure that what I actually end up using is going to be nowhere near that much. The characterizations are different, the pacing of their relationship is completely different, and I'm having to completely rewrite even the most usable parts of it... for something thrown together in a few weeks, NaNo 2013 has been pretty impressive in how tightly-constructed it is. There's so much in it that I love and want to use, and can't because it won't make sense without the rest of it. For now, I think there are about 4 scenes (of mostly-dialogue) I know for sure that I can use (albeit, with some pretty extensive rewriting) and the rest... Well, a lot of it might get thrown out entirely by the time I've written my way to the point in the story where it might go because I know how stories evolve as they hit the page. But I lumped it all into my FTH wordcount already because I think that I can keep a more accurate tally of daily wordcounts this way rather than if I keep adding bits in piecemeal as I go, even though I know that the total fic wordage might start looking a little wonky as I start deleting big chunks as I decide I don't want to use them.

So, I'm excited! We'll see how it goes!

New words this week : 4448 words which brings my October wordcount to a total of 5689 / 30,000 which is still a little behind pace for my goal, but almost 6k!! Just a third of the way into the month!! I've also been taking some time to read from HD-Fan-Fair, which I'm also a little behind on, but still not doing bad at all for trying to balance reading + writing this week.

☆ Fandom Trumps Hate : 4448 words which brings the total to 48,643 words and I'm coming up on the end of Chapter 5!! Pushed through the part I thought I'd have trouble with (which did in fact turn out to be a little bit of a slog to get through) and am now solidly into the parts that I've been super excited to get into. Chapter 6 is going to be so much fucking fun to write and I'm almost there!! :D

New words this week : 1793 words which brings my August wordcount to a total of 1793 / 6,000 and omg I think that I might actually achieve the goal I set out to make this month??

☆ Fandom Trumps Hate : 360 words which brings the total to 44,020 words and Chapter 5 is coming along. I lost most of my writing time to mod stuff/beta stuff/real life stuff so I've probably only put in a couple of hours on it this week, so that's actually not too bad.

☆ firewhisky fic (working title) : 1433 which finishes it off. This was my first time doing FWF, even though I've wanted to for a while. And I had a really really good time! It was really nice to sit down and just write something and know that it didn't have to be good, it just had to be done. (Being pretty sozzled probably helped with that, too.) So, yeah! It's a good feeling to know that I'm going to have finished at least one fic this year :D

Long week, busy week. Lost nearly all my writing time to other things and my wordcount shows it.

New words this week : 163 words which brings my July wordcount to a total of 3618 / 8,000 and that's it for July.

☆ Fandom Trumps Hate : 163 words which brings the total to 42,223 words and I have no idea why this is so hard or taking so long. I have half a scene left.

Feeling much better this week, and have been spending much more time on fandom stuff! The majority of that's been beta stuff, not writing stuff, so it's not really reflected in my wordcount, but it's definitely bringing up all the mushy H/D feels for me <3

New words this week : 1034 words which brings my June wordcount to a total of 3402 / 20,000 and if I can manage to break 5k I'm going to be over the moon about that.

☆ Fandom Trumps Hate : 732 words which brings the total to 38,770 words and still moving slowly forward.

☆ hd-fan-fair (working title) : 302 on a new fic. It's just story notes at this point, sort of a rough plot of how I want things to unfold. But hey! I signed up for a fest! I wasn't going to because the prompt I really really wanted got snapped up right away, but I took a second browse through the prompt doc and was grabbed by this one. It's been ages since I did a fest so I'm pretty excited about that. It's going to be short, but... famous last words, right? (I know, I know, I can hear you laughing from here...)

Nearly forgot to do this post today, because I didn't realize that today was Wednesday. I am so tired, y'all.

New words this week : 1057 words which brings my June wordcount to a total of 1057 / 20,000. Off to a bit of a slow start this month, but considering I only got my writing time back a few days ago, I'm just sort of going with it and hoping that things will pick up now.

☆ Fandom Trumps Hate : 1057 words which brings the total to 37,433 words and I'm getting a little more nervous as that number ticks higher. I'm still in what I thought was going to be the beginning of the story, and I like it so far (I'm pretty sure I like it so far?) but, yeah. It's taking up much more space than I thought it would.

Seven out of seven for writing days this past week, woo! A couple of them were just ~50ish words, but I sat down and opened up my WIP and put words down on it every day :D

New words this week : 3931 words which brings my May wordcount to a total of 7891 / 10,000. Writing's been a little easier lately (knock on wood!) and I'm hoping this is a trend that'll continue.

☆ Fandom Trumps Hate : 3755 words which brings the total to 33,824 words. I spent the earlier part of the week (and lower wordcount days) trying to work out how to raise the stakes of this chapter sufficiently high, so that parts I have planned later will make sense. Spent some time browsing through Pottermore and everything just sort of came together. Love it when that happens! Chapter 4 is now well on its way to complete.

☆ You Send Me 2 (working title) : 176 words on a new WIP, because You Send Me reached that sweet spot of recent enough that I still like the writing, but long enough ago that I'm a little fuzzy on the details, so I gave it a reread recently. And remembered several subplots I'd started and forgotten to finish. I'd intended to do a sequel pretty much right away, and then the Year of No Writing happened. So, I went ahead and started a doc for it and sketched out a loose outline.

Tired, tired, tired, but got some words down. Turns out that spite can be an excellent motivation.

☆ Stay aka Don't Think Twice #5 : 2054 words which brings the total to 6249 words. Every word of that 2k+ was written out of sheer spite for a crappy message I got regarding this series and how long it's taken for me to get it finished. I kind of hate to admit it, because I don't want to give people who leave crappy comments any sort of validation in what they're doing. Basically it got me just angry enough that it overrode the writer's block I've had going on, which, if any of a dozen reasons for the writer's block or current RL circumstances had been different, would have otherwise just ended with me being upset and making even less words than before. Don't be the reason for someone else's bad day, friends.

☆ IW fix it (working title) : 274 words on a new WIP, because I saw Infinity War on Sunday and I have many feelings about it. I have a loose idea of a thing I'd like to get done before IW2 comes out next year, but it's waaaay down the writing queue so I don't really expect it to happen. Still, I had to get the idea jotted down and we'll see if it goes anywhere.

...on a Friday, because wow has it been A Week. Not too great on the writing front, was out of town for two days and then lost more writing time due getting the house ready for a last-minute visit, which ended up falling through. But hey, at least my house is clean and organized now? And I still managed to get some words down last week before everything got busy.

New words this week : 1936 words which brings my April wordcount to 5849 / 10,000 and I'm now a little bit behind for the month. I'm going to try to get caught up today, so. We'll see.
