December Wrap-Up / January Goals

2017 Total Wordcount Goal : 67,426 / 300,000 for the year, and that's that!

I did okay with writing on the days that I actually wrote. December's always a slower month for me wordcount-wise, so I didn't expect to get a whole lot done. And then I ended up putting a bunch of hours into trying to get caught up on comment replies instead of writing. Which didn't really happen, although a good amount of progress was in fact made!

December Wrap-Up : I finished the month with 2884 words which was nowhere near my goal of 10k but still. A perfectly respectable number of words, I think. A total of 2 WIPs got new words: 2380 words went into 1 HP fics, and 504 words went into 1 MCU fics. Both of those were mostly notes and scene snippets, with no large chunks of actual writing.


January
Now that the holidays are over, I'm hoping to get back in the habit of putting some good hours into writing.

January Wordcount Goal : 40k which is, I will admit, a lofty goal. But I feel like I'm right on the verge of breaking through the initial difficulties of my FTH fic and I'm hopeful that the words will really start to flow on it. I'm debating whether or not I want to sign up for H/D Big Bang... But I've got until the 31st to decide, and if I can get to at least 30k on my FTH fic then I think I might do it.

January Fics to Focus On
☆ Fandom Trumps Hate : Currently 5587 words and I've got a good handle on the first 1/3 of it. It's mostly mapped out in a series of scene snippets and blocks of notes, and there's enough of that laid out that I can really see the shape it's taking. Still not idea where I'm going to go through the middle and end of it, but I've got a really fucking awesome last line written out! So there's that taken care of. Estimated wordcount, 45k.

Another New Year

Here we are again at the start of another new year, a day late and a dollar short with this post, but isn't that just in keeping with the epic clusterfuck that was 2017? Unlike 2016, which was a tough year globally but not personally, and unlike 2015, which was a tough year personally but not globally... 2017 managed to be terrible all the way around. It was a year of big changes and bigger disappointments, with just enough good mixed in to keep me putting one foot in front of the other.
