WIP Wednesday

firethesoundThe first weekly update post! I am excited!
Total words this week: 1152 - Not a huge number, but I've been mostly busy reading Erised and doing other things. Plus my goal for the month is only 2.5k so I'm very satisfied with this amount of progress. \o/ I also went back and reread all of Light More Beautiful and made some notes for the Pansy/Luna thing I want to do. I might be shifting this a little lower in the writing queue, because wow do I not have a grasp at all on Luna. I have another WIP with a strong Harry & Luna friendship, and I think it might be a better if I spend some time working with her as a strong side character so I can really firm up my headcanons before I try to write her front and center as someone's love interest and a main character in her own right. I'm still undecided, though.
WIPs worked on this week: 3, two old and one new
Stay aka Don't Think Twice #5 : 470 words bringing the total up to 3183. Not a huge number of words but very good progress since most of them went to the ending. I've got the beginning done and most of the middle sketched out, and now with the ending settled, all it needs is the smutty bits filled in.
george washington's axe (working title) : 543 words bringing the total to 1910. Because Steve and Bucky's story in canon isn't quite sad enough for me, apparently, I want to go and make it sadder. What if the only way to erase the Winter Soldier's last mission was to erase everything? If Bucky destroys all of his memories and gives himself new ones, is he still Bucky? How can Steve properly grieve the loss of someone who's standing right there in front of him? Because, I don't know, sometimes I just wanna make myself cry. ::throws confetti::
the saddest Drarry amnesia fic (working title) : 139 words on a new WIP. Because apparently I'm feeling it with the angsty amnesia fics right now. Honestly this should have gone into my Big Doc of Story Ideas instead of getting its own Word doc, but I had a bit of conversation I wanted to write out and part of the ending, so I did, and now I have yet another WIP. I am weak.

Date: 2016-12-07 08:08 pm (UTC)And I'm VERY excited for you Pansy/ Luna thing, but like you said, it's the hardest when you have like zero headcanon. I wrote a Lorcan/ Lysander story for NGF and it nearly broke my brain, also because I had to start totally from scratch with their characters. Starting on the Harry/ Luna friendship sounds like a good plan though :) Do you have any deadlines, or is it just for yourself?

Look at you, getting words down! What a great week! *cheers* I'm with grace, too, on other people's process (I love seeing this in different artists too) and seeing how they work! I envy your ability to jump around and work on multiple WIPs at a time. I have WIPs that I start and then shelve and then focus on one until it's done. I'd love to practice this more, though.

Knowing that I'm going to be doing these posts is helping to keep me somewhat restrained, but most of the time there is so much bouncing between WIPs! It's sort of a mess lol
