WIP Wednesday

firethesoundAnother two-in-one since I missed posting last week due to being utterly flattened by the flu.
Total words for the week of 01/11-10/17 : 0 Partly due to travel, partly due to illness, I didn't touch a keyboard all week.
Total words this week : 538 bringing my monthly total up to 2573 / 50000. Friends, I don't think I'm going to make my goal this month! I knew that 50k was aiming a little high, but between losing a week to travel, losing another week to sickness, and then losing big chunks of this week to Exciting Adult Activities such as doctor's appointments and all the housework I've neglected during the two weeks of travel and illness, the time I've had for writing has taken a huge hit this month. I was expecting at least 30k, hoped to hit 40k, and at this point I think I'll be lucky if I break 10.

Draco Tops Harry fic : 146 words on a new WIP, because oh hey I signed up for this fest. Which brings up the issue, how can I work on a submission for an anon fest and still keep it a secret if I'm tracking wordcounts? I think what I'll do is record wordcount on here until I break the minimum for the fest (for DTH, it's 1k) and then put in a ??? in place of numbers as a placeholder until after reveals. Which... will be some extra work on my part, having to keep track of anon fic wordcounts separately and then come back to edit the entries afterward. If anyone's got a better solution I'd love to hear it because this feels sort of unnecessarily complicated.
Flaming Crapheap (working title) : 392 words, bringing the total up to 1124. I'm not going to talk too much about this one because I don't know that I'll ever actually finish it, and if so, whether I'd even be willing to post it anywhere. It's less a cohesive story and more of a diary entry filtered through fiction that I drag out every few months and use as a place to vent. It's complete garbage and almost painfully personal, so I pretty much expect it to lurk in the WIP Folder of Doom for all eternity.
