July Wrap-Up / August Goals

firethesound2017 Total Wordcount Goal : 51305 / 300,000 Still waaaay behind for the year but I did break 50k finally so I'm going to celebrate that. This hasn't been a great writing year for a lot of reasons, and getting through 50k is enough of an accomplishment, all things considered, that I'm going to take it.
July
I knew from the beginning that July was going to be difficult to get through, and oh man was it ever. Still, I made a point of trying to squeeze in some writing time whenever I was able to, and even though I never really made lots of words at any one time, I did make a good amount of little words which added up.
July Wrap-Up : I finished the month with 1977 words which nearly doubled my very reasonable goal of 1000 but didn't quite hit my stretch goal of 2500 words. Which I am totally fine with, getting nearly 2k is a lot better than I was afraid I'd get, and that almost-2k was good, productive, useful words, so :D :D :D
August
The last few months were hard and stressful and blah, but I think (cross my fingers and knock on wood) that I'm nearly through the worst of it for a while? August and September will, I think, be relatively calmer for me so I'm hoping to try to make up at least a little of the ground I've lost so far this year. I am resolutely ignoring October, where things will pick up again and continue to be busy and stressful through the end of the year because moving, especially interstate moves, are the actual worst, and we're going to be doing it around the holidays most likely and la la la la la my fingers are in my ears and if I pretend hard enough I won't have to deal with it, that's how it works, right? XP
August Wordcount Goal : 50k because for the first time in ages I actually have the urge to write. I won't actually have any writing time until next week, but I'm feeling optimistic so we're just going to go with it. I'm almost positive that 50k is a wildly unrealistic goal to set, but hey, it's not like there are any real consequences to failing, right?
August Fics to Focus On
☆ pwp take 2 : Currently 1377 words. Started over on the PWP and this one's going a lot better. Not even 2k yet and there are already dicks involved. Someone is mid-blowjob! Progress is being made! Estimated wordcount, 3k.
☆ Fandom Trumps Hate : Currently 314 words but they're all notes and not actual writing. Still! A doc is made for it and that doc has words in it!! I recently finished a reread of the HP series and while that's still fresh in my brain, it's giving me some good ideas about what to do and where to go with this. Hoping to start making some real progress on it this month. Estimated wordcount, 40k.
Additional Goals
Comment Replies : I made some actual progress last month, and then things got busy and I let it slip again. At this point I feel a little weird replying to comments that are nearly 2 years old... but I figure if 2 years later I'm still grateful for them (which I very much am!) then it's totally okay to reply this late. ::nodnod::
Write (Almost) Every Day : I can't start this goal until the second week of August, but from there I will try to get at least 30 minutes of writing time in each and every day. Little bits add up, and I can usually get out at least 100 words in 30 minutes.
