WIP Wednesday

New words this week : 2356 words which brings my August wordcount to a total of 2356 / 6,000 and so far so good for the month! I'm feeling especially good about this wordcount because it has been fucking hot and fucking humid here and I have no AC and my place is miserable, so mostly I think I deserve lots of credit for not just lying down on the floor and refusing to get up again until October.

WIPs worked on this week : 2, with no new WIPs (yay!)

☆ Fandom Trumps Hate : 1556 words which brings the total to 43,779 words and Chapter 4 is FINISHED!! :D :D :D I'm not entirely happy with all of it, especially with one part in particular, but it's done and I can go back and fix it when I edit. I'm now into Chapter 5 and already had 3,001 words down on it, so it's pretty easy to see the shape it's going to take and what I'll need to do to finish it off. The first part is going to be some pretty heavy introspection which I think is going to be slow to get written in a way I'm satisfied with, but the second half is all magical theory which, a) I enjoy writing a lot, and, because of that, b) I tend to write fairly quickly. So. We'll see how that all shakes out.

☆ hd-fan-fair (working title) : 800 which brings the total to 1102 words and I've got the whole thing plotted out! I know exactly where I'm going with it and what I'm doing, and because of the way I'm structuring the story it is absolutely for-sure NOT going to be a million words long. It's going to be SHORT and then it is going to be DONE and that's going to be so fucking fantastic I can't wait.

AWESOME WC!! I've found just getting the words out to be the hardest part. Awesome in plotting out fan fair! I'm certain it will definitely, absolutely not grow into a 50k monster!fic. Definitely not! But really though, being able to get something short out I've realized is pretty key for my writing-related mental health, particularly when I'm mostly working on a longer fic. There's a big boost of satisfaction that comes with actually being able to finish a thing, so yay for that!

omg YES. So much this. I really really want to get back in the habit of doing something short and silly at least every couple of months, but lately A) I feel guilty any time I'm not working on fandom trumps hate since it's so ridiculously overdue and B) I've been writing so slowly that even silly little pwps or whatever are taking me months to get written ::flail::
